Abstract
Objective: This study is designed to verify that patients with neglect cannot represent either side of a space, failing to give attention to either side of a mental image, and provide basic data on left-sided hemiplegia patient`s neglect.
Methods: The survey was conducted targeting three in-patients at hospitals ¡°B¡± located in Incheon, South Korea, from May through October, 2012. For the selection of subjects, line bisection test were employed. In the case study, the therapist let the patients create images of treatment room or other familiar indoor areas of the hospital and put marks on the floor plan in the order of the things that the patient recalled.

Results: In the study, three patients with neglect, when asked to imagine and describe a familiar space viewed to the person`s face or with the back to it, described it starting from the part on the right side from his view. The experiment was conducted in the familiar treatment room or other separate faraway space inside the hospital, and the patients found it harder to envision the image behind their back than in front of them. And more facilities were described as standing in front of the patient than as pictured behind the back.

Conclusion: The left-sided hemiplegia patients who have hemi-neglect could not perform representation of, nor pay attention to the space on the left. This should be considered in the treatment of the patient with neglect.
